OCS Client Installation Please Note: You must be logged onto the client workstation as the local Administrator in order to install the client software. Step One – from the workstation, browse to the server using Start/Run and type in “\\ENTER YOUR SERVER NAME”. You should be seeing the OCSPROG folder. Step Two – Go into OCSPROG/CDUSR and find “Tstart.exe” – Run it Step Three – Follow the steps for installation and you should see a “P” come into the bottom right taskbar and you will know it is running when it is blinking red then green. Step Four – Check the Printers folder to ensure the installation brought our Virtual Printer onto the client. It is typically called MONITOR. – Monitor should be the default printer. - If this did not happen, you will have to manually install it from the network. Step Five – Test, send a print job from the client and see if you get the OCS Pop-Up. If you do, go to the Print Release Station and ensure the print you just sent is in the list. If you do not get the pop-up, check your XP firewall settings on the client computer. Oftentimes you need to allow a Port for OCS to get through. To do this, simply allow a Port, named OCS on port 13001 – this should solve the issue. Test again. At this point, you should have an installed and functioning client. If you run into any issues, give OCS Support a call at 905-828-9706.
