How do I configure a VCC unit for my network?
Answer: To accomplish the task of configuring the VCC unit, the “Parameters card” that was shipped with the VCC unit has to be readily available. To begin this process, swipe the parameters card. Use the arrow keys in the top right hand corner to navigate.
Screen 1 Enter Off-Line Set IP Using the arrow keys, Select Set IP Hit the Enter Key
Screen 2 BootP Static IP Using the arrow keys, select Set Static IP Hit the Enter Key
Screen 3 Controller IP Using the Number Pad, enter the Controller IP for this unit Hit the Enter Key
Screen 4 SUBNET MASK Using the Number Pad, enter the subnet mask for this network Hit the Enter Key
Screen 5 Server IP Using the Number Pad, enter the Server IP Hit the Enter Key
Screen 6 Gateway IP Using the Number Pad, enter the Gateway for this network Hit the Enter Key
Screen 7 Reader Port The default is displayed Hit the Enter Key
Screen 8 Controller Port The default is displayed Hit the Enter Key To complete the configuration process, hit the enter key . When the VCC has been successfully configured on the server, the unit will display “Please enter Acct# or Swipe Card”. However, if the unit does properly initialize, verify that the OCS service is running on the server, and confirm that the data entered on the OCS Server matches the data entered into the unit.
