How do I set up and use the OCS emailing engine?

Answer:

NOTE: In order to use the email, you must have access to a MAPI-enabled email server. 

Step 1: Run OCS Manager. 

Step 2: Select “Utilities Menu”. 

Step 3: Select “Operating Parameters”.   

Step 4: Select “Update” to switch the field to ‘Yes’. 

Step 5: Select “Configure Sock Mail”.

Step 6: Enter in a ‘From’ email address from whom all emails will be sent (e.g. techsupport@yourinstitution.edu).   

Step 7: Enter the IP address of your email server, then select “Save and Exit”. 

Step 8: Select “Test Emailer”.
