Install and Configure the Patron Kiosk

The OCS Patron Kiosk station is a self-service kiosk that allows patrons to administer their accounts without staff intervention.

From the kiosk the patrons can:

·        Create their own accounts

·        Add value to their account

·        Check their account balances

·        View their account history

·        Change their passwords

·        Be emailed the account information ( if enabled)   

Installation

From the computer where Patron Kiosk is to be installed: 

Step 1: Browse to the OCS server 

Step 2: Run OCS Manager. 

Step 3: Select the “Utilities Menu” button. 

Step 4: Select the “Installs and Configurations” button. 

Step 5: Select the button “Install Patron Kiosk to Desktop”. 

Step 6: Select if this program is the primary Start up program.

Selecting ‘Yes’ will put a link in the all users startup folder to start this program each time the computer is re logged on. 

Step 7: The station is installed and a shortcut will be placed on the desktop. Each time the program is started it is downloaded from the server. Thus easing the updating of the software.  

Step 8: Administer/Configure the PRS, The Configuration files for all installed programs will be stored on the server and downloaded when the software restarts. 

Configuring the Patron Kiosk

To configure the Patron Kiosk: 

Step 1: Browse to the OCS server 

Step 2: Run OCS Manager. 

Step 3: Select the “Utilities Menu” button. 

Step 4: Select the “Installs and Configurations” button. 

Step 5: Select the “Configure Patron Kiosk” button.

Operation Configuration Menu

The options are turned on and off by clicking the left mouse button on the appropriate button.  The setting is enabled if it is a lighter shade of gray. 

Receipt Configuration Menu

The text and appearance of the printed receipt can be modified to reflect a site name and common language.

Set Language

This option shows the available languages for displayed text.  The content of the displayed text can be modified through OCS Manager.

Set Up Bonus

This option is enabled or disabled via the configuration menu. 

If required, bonuses can be given to the patrons based on the amount added to the account. The window below allows for the setting up of the bonuses. Enter the lower and upper limits and the percentage or fixed amount.
