Upgrading to OCS Version 14 Steps for Installation: Note: The very first thing you should do is go through your OCS Manager and print your existing configurations. This will allow you to set the system to match exactly as before you upgraded. OCS Manager has a “Print Screen” button for the screens holding the configurations. Print the screens for your Client configs, your Timed-Access configs and your PRS configs. Step 1 – Download the executables from the OCS FTP site: ftp.vasinc.com/OCS/ocs14 - the file called “v14_exes_only.exe” save to the desktop Step 2 - Stop your OCSENG service (Administrative Tools/Services) Step 3 – Back up your existing OCSPROG file & OCSIP (create a copy of each folder) Step 4 - Extract the download into the TEMP Directory & name OCS Update Step 5 – Copy Exe’s into OCSPROG/cdusr – yes to replacing all Step 6 – Find & run the file “conv_audhist.exe” from OCSPROG/cdusr Step 7 – Restart OCSENG service Note: If your service appears to start up then suddenly stops, this could be a symptom of an expired license file. To check this, go into OCSPROG/cdusr/logs and run the license.log. This will tell you if your demo license has expired. Step 8 – Test your OCS Manager and reconfigure as needed Step 9 - Reinstall your Print Release Station - browse to the server, to ocsprog/cdusr, run ocsmgr.exe, go to Utilities Menu then Installs and Configurations – Install PRS. Follow the steps and the PRS should be installed. Step 10 – Reinstall your Client workstations – browse to the server from the client PC, into ocsprog/cdusr, find T_Start.exe and run. Follow the steps and you should see your client start-up (“P” in the bottom corner taskbar will be blinking red then green) Your update is now complete. Once everything has been reinstalled and tested, you should be running smoothly. If you have encountered any issues with this process, please call OCS Support at 905-828-9706 ext. 251 or 234.
