Timed-Access at the Client PC

When a user approaches an OCS Timed Access computer the desktop will look similar to the screen below depending on configuration  

The above screens will cover the entire computer viewing area, and will not allow the computer to be used until (depending on configuration) a one time use number is entered or the users library name and name and number is entered.  

During use, the time remaining in the session is displayed, but can be minimized. 

What if the Computer is Reserved?

If another person has reserved the computer, a window will be displayed making the current user aware of this fact. Moments later (time determined at setup), a prompt will be displayed for the reserving person to claim the computer.

What if the Computer is NOT Reserved?

If the computer is not reserved the current session may be extended (depending on configuration) for the specified time.

End of Session Warning:

A window (similar to the one above) will be displayed when a session approaches the end.

Close Session:

OCS Client will run in the background every time the computer is started. A small window with the time remaining and a stop button will be displayed on the user’s screen. By clicking the Stop button during a timed access session, the user will be able to close their session, return to their session, or lock their session.   

Note:  Hitting the keys Ctrl-Alt-E simultaneously and entering the required information will close down OCS Timed Access.  

Close Session - Ends the current session

Return to Session - Returns to the current session

Lock this Session - Locks session until current user comes back within a reasonable amount of time.
