OCS Over-The-Counter is a utility used in conjunction with OCS On-Account to create, manage, and control accounts within the system.  This program is installed on a central staff PC and is capable of running in the background, minimized until needed.  Over-The-Counter is an excellent administrative tool for staff to have added control of the Print Management environment.

OCS Over-The-Counter has a second function of Print Queue Management.  Users print a job and receive a pop-up to confirm the number of pages, enter a job name and send the job to the print queue.  Typically a Print Release Station is available for users to release their jobs but staff behind the counter can control and manage the print queue as well.  This allows staff to have complete control over printing facilities and ensures users are paying for their print jobs. 

Your facility will see wasteful printing diminish as users must pay for what they print.  This is an excellent way to ensure the proper use of printers, while allowing your facility to recoup some of the costs related to public use printers.
